In “Classic Scooby-Doo” that loveable, mystery-solving pooch is portrayed in a consummate pose amid the spooky trappings inherent to his sleuthing life: a haunted mansion, a graveyard, and of course the Mystery Machine.
This limited edition cel was created to present a modern classic: Scooby-Doo (the lead and title character in the longest running cartoon series in television history!) The image began with a drawing of Scooby by the man who originally created him, famed Hanna-Barbera artist, Iwao Takamoto. From this drawing Helene Hartman created the master inking which was then silk-screened with both the Hanna-Barbera and Iwao Takamoto Design seals onto an acetate sheet/cel. Each cel was then hand-painted on the reverse side in traditional animation style. The background layout drawing, also by Iwao Takamoto, was rendered by Dennis Durrell and reproduced on acid-free paper using the lithograph process. The edition number was hand-inked on each cel in an edition of 500.
