Walt Disney Art Classics - The Lion King - Pouncing Lessons
The Story The young lion Simba shares a moment with his father who teaches him many of life's important lessons, one of which is the skillful art of pouncing. Disney's The Lion King is the most successful animated film in history, inspiring a sequel, an award-winning Broadway musical, and more. It also set a standard of quality that few other studios have been able to approach. A story about the coming of age utilizing elements of African folktakes and William Shakespeare's Hamlet, The Lion King struck a chord with audiences around the world.
The Artwork This is a limited edition sericel depicting Mufasa and Simba and inspired by a scene from the animated feature Disney's The Lion King (1994). These sericels are reproductions of a hand-inked, hand-painted animation cel master specially created by artists at The Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint Department. The master cel was used as a reference in the production of these sericels. A total of 23 colors were then used to recreate the color image, each of which has been exactingly screen-printed, one color at a time, onto the acetate cel.
