Walt Disney Limited Editions - Roy Disney and Friends

Celebrating Walt Disney's now famous nephew Roy E. Disney, this hand-painted cel pairs Roy with his uncle's most well-known creations. This image was created to kick off the latest Mickey Mouse short series, entitled Disney's Mickey MouseWorks, which premiered in September 1999. Roy Disney served as executive producer, and the main supporter, of the series of new shorts so it is a fitting tribute for him to be surrounded by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy, who are now back to delight future generations. This edition is a great hand-painted cel as it depicts six characters on cel in an edition size of only 300, each hand-signed by Roy E. Disney. Roy Disney has been credited as helping to revitalize the Disney Feature Animation Department beginning with "The Little Mermaid" in 1989; it has been his hands-on involvement that has helped to preserve the Disney legacy. In addition to helping to bring Mickey and his friends back to television and theaters, 2000 marks the realization of another of Roy Disney's special projects, Fantasia 2000. Roy Disney currently serves as President of The Walt Disney Company and Chairman of Disney Feature Animation.
