Charles Peterson - Framed -- Wilderness Legacy

The Memories Collection

Wilderness Legacy is a special project published in cooperation with The Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. Join us in supporting their mission to protect and preserve the wilderness character of this magnificent national treasure for us, for our children, and for future generations.

This beautiful north country scene is enhanced by images of our camper considering the adventuresome spirits who traveled these waters before him (or is it that they are considering him.). The Native American culture - Ojibwe most recently, but others for centuries before, the French Voyageur - backbone of the fur trade of the 1700's, and the legendary turn-of-the-century Lumberjack are all colorful contributors to our inheritance. Be careful not to step on the thinking of the viewer; but for your information, the thoughtful camper is Sigurd Olson, environmentalist, educator, writer and one of the strongest voices ever for wilderness preservation.
