One of my favorite figures in Seminole history is Wildcat." says Challenger. "His enemies described him as both handsome and ferocious. During the Second Seminole War, he often stopped and taunted the soldiers who attempted to chase and capture him. One battle story tells of an attack he led on a group of travelers. Among the spoils were various theater costumes. Several months later, Wildcat arrived at Fort Cummings to broker a truce. He was dressed as Hamlet."
