The deer are hesitating before venturing out of their deep woods sanctuary to cross the road. The sign informs us that there may be trouble on the other side, but curiosity is likely to prevail. In this atmosphere of autumn browns and oranges, sunlit faces and stands of white birch, we prefer to imagine that nothing could possibly happen to disturb the tranquility.
