A determined opportunist, the coyote has extended his range throughout North America. Even as the wilderness shrinks and other species' populations have dwindled, the coyote has adapted and made himself right at home just about everywhere.

“I did some experimenting with backlighting, which makes this painting different than my other work. My model was almost an adult, but still young, and the challenge of this painting was to capture the inexperienced, innocent look of a youngster.” - Carl Brenders
