Warner Brothers Sericels - Bugs Bunny - Enchanted Evening

The image of Bugs kissing Daisy Lou is taken directly from the 1948 Friz Freleng-directed cartoon, ‘Hare Splitter,’ where Bugs desires for a rabbit named Daisy Lou, are complicated by another rabbit, named Casbah.

The character illustration inspired by the original film was created by Juan Ortiz. The ink lines from the original were used to create hand-cut screens for each vibrant color within the sericel. The background layout concept was designed by Brian Noveck, and the final rendering by Hector Martinez. The background is reproduced with the fine art giclee process.

Hare Splitter as have other Looney Tunes love-related cartoons, uses love terminology of the day, including ‘pitch some woo.’
