"Life-changing events affect us all, so instead of expressing my emotions verbally about recent events, i used the canvas with vibrant impasto brushstrokes to 'Voice' my feelings. The result is "Number 13" and "The Frontline."

"It was the film short, Orphna's Benefit (1934), that Donald really let the feathers fly. In this landmark film, Donald takes center stage and performs in a benefit variety show for a group of high-spirited orphans. Donald recites nursery rhymes in his squawky, all-but-unintelligible voice, but the orphans are unimpressed with his narrative talents. Their irreverent response to his inimitable version of "Little Boy Blue" ignited the first display of Donald's volcanic temper - and audiences loved it." - David Willardson
