Walt Disney Art Classics - Sleeping Beauty - Dream Duet

The Story
Briar Rose, unaware that she is actually the Princess Aurora, meets a romantic stranger in the woods - also unaware that he is actually her betrothed, Prince Phillip.

The Artwork
This is a limited edition sericel depicting characters from Walt Disney's classic animated feature Sleeping Beauty (1959). This sericel edition, "Dream Duet," recreates Sequence 8, Scene 72 of the film, animated by legendary Disney artists Milt Kahl (Prince Phillip) and Marc Davis (Princess Aurora).

The Walt Disney Studios has created this multiple character image using the fine art screen-printing process of color reproduction known as serigraphy. Disney artists specially created a hand-inked, hand-painted animation cel master which was used in the production of these sericels. A total of 23 colors are used to recreate the color image, each of which has been exactingly screen-printed, one color at a time, onto the acetate cel.
