A universal and a personal longing are embodied by Steve Hanks in this serene painting. "Being able to visualize a dream is so powerful. I've painted two friends who are newly married adding touches that are my hopes for their life together. All the birds are grounded as I hope the couple will be. Beyond the birds is a child (which I foresee as theirs). Past the child is another couple representing the two of them staying together after the children have grown. And in the far distance I see them as grandparents with their children and grandchildren." - Steve Hanks
