Steve Hanks - A World For Our Children

Although this image has universal appeal and could be set in a thousand places, its inspiration came from an actual location and real people.

On a trip with his wife, son, daughter and her friend they stopped to rest. As the three children played on the dock the painting's composition took form.

"This is the kind of world we all want for our children," he mused. "It's disappearing in many parts of our country. But this particular spot, and more importantly the idea it represents has been, as best I was able, saved."
