"Haida Spirit" by Robert Bateman is a striking giclee combining astract design and spiritual elements. The Haida are an Indian tribe of the Northwest. The conoe in this print, which measured 50', is a traditional Haida design, carved from a single ancient red cedar tree. When Bateman saw it, in his mind's eye, he pictured a raven, hovering above it. According to Haida legend, the raven is a wily trickster-transformer who created the world.
