Sidewalks of Paris

The four images of "Sidewalks of Paris" depict direct views of the wonderfully detailed facades of Parisian store-fronts. The artists passion for this ever popular romantic city is again captured with spectacular detail.

The four views presented capture the Paris of years gone by, a city full of mystery and enchantment. Kondakova lovingly paints the cobblestone streets and store-fronts with her colorful palette. No present architecture could visually speak to us in such a powerful manner.

"Chez Julien" presents the viewer with the opportunity to enter a world where all the sights and sounds are reminiscent of pre-World War II Paris. One could imagine that there are soldiers sitting with attractive ladies chatting over cocktails and appetizers. Kondakova also reveals her talents to the viewer in her treatment of light and color. The cobalt blue in "Chez Julien" has become part of Kondakova's artistic shorthand.
