Ah, La Dolce Vita… the sweet life. Kerry Hallam brings us along on his jaunt through these four lush exuberant images of a wonderful life in a beautiful place. Reminiscent of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, these four scenes convey the bright palette and easy spirit of that scenic and oft-visited corner of the world.
As in the movie of the same title, La Dolce Vita invites us on a sentimental visit to the place where the beautiful people play. Like Marcello Mastroianni, the Italian movie star, we glide from one gorgeous locale to the next, where every day is a new adventure, a new dare, a new possibility. We start the day, perhaps, at the Cafe Di Porto, the Harbor Cafe, sipping cappuccino and watching the boats leave the harbor for an adventuresome day at sea. Midday finds us at the Piazza Giardino, the Garden Square, where we take a break in a shady spot to escape the hot Mediterranean sun. We walk along the flower-lined Via Fiore on our way to meet up with friends in the afternoon, then return back to our seaside villa, Villa Di Mare, to relax and make plans for the evening.
The works of Kerry Hallam have been the ability to translate the ordinary moment into the magical, inviting us to be revitalized by the simple pleasures of life. His images invite us to experience the rejuvenating power of these seaside havens, the transcendent blending of azure waters, flower-covered hillsides, and the brilliant sun restores our spirit and soothes our soul. These places, these images and the emotions they evoke are forever and inextricably with La Dolce Vita
La Dolce Vita is the first Hallam release to be printed solely on canvas. Each piece is enhanced by hand and signed by the artist.
Mediterranean-themed works are among Kerry Hallam’s most popular and best-selling imagery.
