"I was inspired to unlock those same qualities within each of us. This work is about innocence; it explores individually and gives us a moment to pause. It gives us time to reflect on the beauty of simplicity in our own lives. As the Seven Dwarfs head home after a long day's work, they pass young Snow White sitting in a natual garden bathed in soft light and surrounded by a beckoning forest, which enticingly invies us to wonder in. The distant streams of light are mirrored in the shimmering pond filled with flowering lily pads. Dopey, having lagged behind the rest is entranced by the flowers surrounding him on the steps. Lost in his own world, he picks a bouquet of flowers, perhaps to give the princess Snow White later that evening. For me, the essence of "Picking Flowers" is a feeling of innocence and serenity that is portrayed in this captivating world." - James Coleman
