Even at rest, a tiger is ever alert and responsive to the slightest sound: the buzz of a bee, or a partridge scratching in the dust. But occasionally the noise is that of a deer or boar pushing through scrub and then all senses will be keyed into stalking the prey. The tiger's stealth and patience are a prerequisite for a successful hunt.
